Water Watch Penang is honored to have been invited to raise awareness about water conservation as part of Intel Malaysia Safety Week, participating as one of the exhibitors on May 7th and 9th, 2024, at the Bayan Lepas and Kulim plants respectively. Representing Water Watch Penang were Dr. Hong Chern Wern, the Executive Manager of WWP, along with interns from UMK, Ms. Atiqah and Ms. Fatin.
Continue readingOn May 7th, 2024, Water Watch Penang was privileged to be invited to deliver an environmental talk titled ‘Our Household Water Consumption and How to Use Them Wisely,’ as part of Intel Malaysia Safety Week. Dr. Hong Chern Wern, the Executive Manager of WWP, led the presentation, assisted by interns Ms. Atiqah and Ms. Fatin.
Dr. Hong commenced the session by outlining WWP’s objectives, achievements, and past initiatives. He highlighted Intel’s partnership with WWP on the achievement of Negalitres for Schools Programme and Intel River Ranger Programme. Dr. Hong also shown to the participants that despite Penang’s classification as a water-poor region, it experiences significant water wastage due to the remarkably low domestic tariff.

14 July 2022: In conjunction with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at INTEL, Water Watch Penang has successfully conducted the River Ranger programme with the participation of INTEL employees at Quarry Park, located in the Botanical Garden of Penang. This event was the second series of the entire programme, where the first was held the month before (28th of June).
A total of 37 participants from INTEL Penang joined the programme, and some of them travelled all the way from outstation for this programme.
