LEADERSHIP TRAINING: IDENTIFYING AND UNDERSTANDING WATER POLLUTANTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT 2024

DURATION: BETWEEN APRIL 2024 TO NOVEMBER 2024

INTRODUCTION

Water pollution is one of the most critical issues of the 21st century. Typically, water pollutants can be classified into various categories including emerging contaminants, pathogens, suspended solids and nutrients. These pollutants possess different characteristics and properties, making them difficult to be removed from contaminated water. Commonly, many water pollutants are generated unintentionally through daily activities. For instance, irresponsible pouring of grease into the drain may result in the deposition of fats and clogging of drains/sewer. This proposal is designed to produce future leaders who can educate the public, particularly university students, to identify and understand water pollutants in the environment.
