INTRODUCTION
It has been 3 years since the last State Level World Water Day celebration took place in Penang. Due to movement control order (MCO) that was mandated by the Federal government to curb on the Covid-19 infection. Water Watch Penang (WWP) and Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) successfully organised the annual World Water Day celebration at Air Itam Dam on 21st May 2023. Based on the recommendations of PBAPP, Water Watch Penang, will be continue partnering with PBAPP to organise the State Level World Water Day celebration for the year 2024.
TENTATIVE PROGRAMME
i) opening speeches and talks by the Honourable Chief Minister
ii) Dance Performance by School Children on Water Theme
iii) Water Painting & Colouring Competition
iv) Press Conference
v) Water Exhibition booths by government departments, NGOs, water companies, Schools, etc
vi) Water Guessing competitions & Water Games
vii) Visit to Waterfall Treatment Plant (All Day)
