Phase 2 Water Genius Challenge: Training of Trainers (Teachers) on Curriculum Integration of River-Water Related Topics – 22nd and 29th May 2021.

After months of trainings and preparations by the teachers and students of Water Genius Challenge, the Phase 2 Water Genius Challenge, which is the implementation phase, commenced on the 5th of April 2021. The commencement of WGC at school was to be concurrent with the two ToT sessions. However, due to Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) which has resulted in delays and changes in school timing, the final two ToT sessions were conducted in the following month which took place on-line via zoom, on the 22nd and 29th May 2021.  

One of the implementation processes is the need for the teachers to integrate river and water education component into the school’s existing curriculum, thus, in this final ToT session on Curriculum Integration of River-Water Related Topics, the objectives were:

Public consultation – Water Tariff Review for Penang (24 May 2021 until 6 June 2021). For the purpose of this public consultation, SPAN has prepared a consultation paper and slides to provide some background and information on the proposed adjustment of water supply service rates in the state of Penang. In addition, a survey form is also provided to obtain feedback from stakeholders on the proposed adjustment.

Tepian pantai disusuri,
Larut malam tak pulang-pulang;
Seikhlas hati menyusun jari,
Kepada sungai dan hutan manusia berhutang.

Ke kebun sayur melalui titi,
Titi dibina oleh Pak Kodi;
Sungai dicemari hampir mati.
Pabila mati apa pun tak jadi.

Sambal kacang berminyak- minyak,
Dicolek dengan ketupat nasi;
Hati bersih kawan pun banyak,
Pencemar sungai musuh gergasi.

Budak-budak menangkap puru,
Orang tua menanam padi;
Pencemar sungai membina seteru,
Pencinta sungai membalas budi.

Pagi Syawal berbaju kurta,
Ke rumah jiran berjalan kaki;
Air nilainya bak intan permata,
Sungai pastinya lubuk rezeki.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI. MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN. CINTAILAH SUNGAI & GUNAKAN AIR SECARA BERHEMAT.
