24th August 2022 – A river water education awareness session was successfully taken place on the 24th August 2022 held at Cherok Tokun Nature Park (National forest) with the participation of 30 students and 5teachers from SMK Bakti. Water Watch Penang’s Executive Manager, Dr. Hong Chern Wern, oversaw the event with the help of WWP interns and facilitators including Ms. Ong Ke Shin, Mr. Hanson Yeoh, Ms. Adeline Chong, and Ms. Nur Aina Syahira.Continue reading
25th September 2022: Water Watch Penang was invited by Penang Green Council (PGC) and its programme partner, Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP), for an exhibition for the community event held at Kampung Permatang Nibong in conjunction with World River Day (every fourth Sunday of September). Audiences primarily locals from Kampung Permatang Nibong, spanning from children to retirees, attended the event.
24 September 2022 – The Student Explore Aquatic Sciences (SEAS) Camp 2022 was successfully carried in conjunction with World Environment Day. The camp was led by Dr. Chee Su Yin and assisted by the staff, postgraduates, research assistants, and interns from the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies, USM. A total of 28 secondary school students age between 13-17 years old and a schoolteacher were in attendance. The activities were run in several locations within USM namely, The Bricks, School of the Arts, and Centre for Global Archaeology Research.Continue reading
