On the 16th and 23rd of April 2025, Water Watch Penang was invited to participate in the Environmental Health and Safety Week at Intel Kulim and Penang. This event took place onsite at their respective branches from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Ms Rebecca Anne Chin (Assistant Manager), Education Officers, Ms Nur Atiqah and Ms Fatin Azahara, our trained officer, Mr Yee Jean Chai and Intern, Ms Nur Alya Arisha had represented Water Watch Penang in being active exhibitors during the respective weeks.

The Environmental Health and Safety Week is a one-week programme that involves exhibitions from several organisations and companies in Malaysia that are working towards promoting environmental safety and health practices in the workplace. Water Watch Penang was invited as a close partner and exhibitor to promote and educate sustainable and smart water consumption in the workplace and at home through practical solutions and methods to reduce the amount of water used by every individual.

Throughout the exhibition, we had engaged with a total of 122 staff from Intel (74 at Intel Kulim, and 50 at Intel Penang) as we focused on raising awareness on Malaysia’s current water issues and highlighting the need to build a stronger water-saving society despite the recent water tariff adjustments throughout Malaysia. Interactive educational activities were conducted at the booths by the team as a way to engage with the staff on water education. With information specially catered to the crowd, the team had an eventful week with Intel at the respective branches.

Water Watch Penang would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Intel for their support and active partnership with WWP’s water conservation and education programmes throughout the years. We look forward to collaborating with Intel in the coming years.
