On July 4, 2023, Water Watch Penang organized yet another Aquasave Awareness Education Programme for Furutec Electrical Sdn. Bhd. A total of 16 employees actively participated in the program, which took place from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
The primary objective of the talk was to enhance the understanding of the company’s staff and empower them to adopt water-saving practices in their daily activities, going beyond the mere achievement of the Penang Green Office Certification. Additionally, the talk aimed to provide guidance to the staff on meeting the certification requirements based on Aqua Save evaluation criteria.
Dr. Hong Chern Wern, the Executive Manager of WWP, initiated the talk by delivering an introduction to WWP’s history, goals, and past activities. He also provided insights into global, national, and local water issues, along with various types of water-saving technologies. Furthermore, WWP distributed slow-flow inserts for taps, known as ‘Washers’ by PBAPP, to the employees, while also providing instructions on their installation.
During the water audit section, Dr. Hong guided the participants in calculating their daily water consumption based on their water bills. He also emphasized the activities that consume the most water at home and in the office, while suggesting methods to reduce water consumption.
Aligned with the Aqua Save program, the participants were treated to PBAPP’s latest water-saving video, further reinforcing the importance of conserving water.
