WWP ORGANISED AQUA SAVE AWARENESS EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR PENANG GREEN OFFICE CERTIFICATION FOR AEMULUS CORPORATION

On June 19, 2023, as part of the Aqua Save Awareness Education Programme for Penang Green Office Certification, WWP successfully organized a short talk for Aemulus Corporation.

A total of 13 employees, led by Ms. Hazel Wong, the leader of the ESG Committee, participated in the program from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

The Aqua Save Awareness Education Programme is a free talk organized by WWP in collaboration with the Penang Green Council (PGC) and the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) for organizations that have signed up for the Penang Green Office certification. This program, initiated in 2009 by PBAPP in partnership with the Penang State Government, aims to recognize industries and organizations committed to water conservation activities.

In line with the aim by PBAPP to recognise and encourage industries and organisations committee to water conservation, the objective of the talk is to provide company staff with a better understanding of the importance of water conservation in their daily activities, beyond just achieving the Penang Green Office Certification. The talk also aims to guide staff towards meeting the certification criteria based on Aqua Save evaluations.

According to PBAPP, organizations participating in the program will be evaluated based on their water savings, initiatives and efforts in water conservation, innovative and cost-effective technologies, and their commitment to water conservation sustainability.

Dr. Hong Chern Wern, the Executive Manager of WWP, commenced the talk by introducing WWP’s history, goals, and past activities. To sensitise the participants, he also discussed global, national, and local water issues, as well as various water-saving technologies. After explaining the installation process, WWP provided the employees with water-saving kits provided by PBAPP.

Additionally, Dr. Hong explained the water audit process, highlighting its components and how to conduct water audits to reduce water consumption in workplaces, offices, and homes. The program also included a session where staff learned how to calculate water bills and read water meters.

As part of the Aqua Save program, participants were shown PBAPP’s latest water-saving video.
