GREW-WWP Partnership: Negalitres for Schools River and Water Education Programme

21st November 2022: Green Educator’s Workgroup (GREW) President, Mr. Khou Jerome from SJKC Union, has successfully conducted a physical river and water education programme for a total of 43 students and 4 teachers on 17th of November 2022. This is the second session of the river and water education programme conducted for SJKC Union, the first one was conducted virtually by Dr. Hong Chern Wern on the 16th of April 2022 due to the government’s restriction on Covid-19.

The educational programme aimed to increase the next generation’s understanding of water consumption and conservation and their awareness of water-saving practices. The global, national, and local water crises were first discussed with the students during the educational programme, particularly the present state of the Penang river and the water crises.

This was the seventh education session by GREW which also served as the outcome of the Training of Trainers programme by Water Watch Penang.

This initiative is brought to you by CLEAN International, and Intel Corporation, coordinated by WWP and in collaboration with PBAPP and GREW.

Water Watch Penang would like to extend its gratitude to GREW towards this beneficial partnership for Penang’s environmental education.
