GREW-WWP Partnership: Negalitres for Schools River and Water Education Programme

4th November 2022: Green Educator’s Workgroup (GREW) teachers, Cikgu Dhanalaksmi from SMK Abdullah Munshi and Cikgu Ong Soon Yeong from SJCK Pulau Betong, have successfully conducted river and water education programme for their respective schools. Cikgu Dhalaksmi conducted the programme on the 2nd November 2022 involving a total of 294 students, while Cikgu Ong Soon Yeong has managed to conducted two sessions which was on the 26th September 2022 and 17th October 2022 involving an overall number of 58 students and 11 teachers.

The education programme aimed to improve the next generation’s awareness of water-saving and understanding of water consumption and conservation. In the educational programme, the global, national and local water crises were first discussed with the students especially the current condition of the Penang river and the water crises.

Those were the third and fourth education sessions by GREW Teachers which also served as outcomes of the Training of Trainer’s programme by Water Watch Penang.
