ACTIVITY REPORT
1 Project Activity: N-Park Water Saving Exhibition/Coloring Contest
2 Objective/ Purpose: a) To create awareness among the N-Park Residents and other visitors on the current Water Saving Project of N-Park through exhibition as well as ‘Water Theme’ coloring competition.

6 Reports (with Photographs) The N-Park Water Saving Project Exhibition for the year 2010 was kicked-off on the 7th of August 2010. The event was started with the registration of participants for coloring competitions which consist of 3 categories (6 years and below, 7-9years and 10-12years). Participants were given a free shirt each. By about 2.15 pm, the competition commenced. This is followed by the exhibition by the Water Watch Penang and Wintima Corportation. In the exhibition, Water Watch Penang provided brochures on ‘Water Saving Tips’ and ‘Save River’ for the booth visitors while brief poster on the Rainwater Harvesting Project was enacted for the visitors to understand on the current progress of the project. Next, Wintima Corporation, the company which installed the 6 rainwater harvesting tank, exhibited on solid waste treatment technology and provided some insight for the visitors of the exhibition. After about 2 hours, the ceremony started with the Vice President of Water Watch Penang giving out an opening speech. In his speech, he welcomed all the visitors of the exhibition as well as the participants of the N-Park Water Saving Project. He also mentioned about the total amount of water saved so far through the installation of water saving equipment and rainwater harvesting tank in N-Park Common Ground which is about 20-30% of savings so far. Mr Hong Chern Wern ended his speech with a hope that everyone will continue practicing water saving to ensure future sustainability. Following that, a representative from Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Penang State, Puan Wan Hasitinaziah Bt Mohd Hassan gave an opening speech and thus officiating the exhibition. In her speech, Puan Wan expressed her gratitude towards the visitors and participants of the exhibition. In addition to that, Puan Wan also mentioned about more participation for this project to ensure its success since the project inception last year September 2010. Soon after the officiating ceremony, results for the coloring competition were announced. Prizes in forms of bicycles courtesy of DID of Penang were presented to the winners by Puan Wan Hasitinaziah Bt Mohd Hassan and Mr Hong Chern Wern. The exhibition ended with a refreshment for the visitors and the exhibition continued on until about 5pm. 8 Outputs / Outcome: The N-Park Water Saving Project Exhibition are expected to have provided awareness and knowledge for the visitors on the rainwater harvesting project as well as the installation of water saving equipment on the common ground as a whole.
